Jerry Provost, Mark McQuail, and Brian Mahoney of the Percept Research team attended the Executive MBA Council 2015 annual conference in Singapore from October 25-28.

The theme for the conference, Global Shift, focused on innovative perspectives on the global shifts that are shaking the foundation of the graduate MBA education worldwide and explored the ways EMBA Programs can maximize their efforts to meet the needs of business leaders in a swiftly changing environment.

This was the first year that the EMBA Council hosted its global conference in Asia, which tied so well with the theme of the meeting. Asia is a region of growth for business schools and companies. There were 308 conference delegates from 114 business schools representing 30 countries.

Time to Talk Research

During the first plenary session, data were presented from the council's annual Membership Program Survey. The Membership Program Survey benchmarks global trends in executive MBA programs with 92% of the membership participating in the survey.

Percept Research collaborates with the council's Center for Research team to conduct the Membership Program Survey, which is a global benchmarking study of executive MBA programs (over 92% of the membership participated in 2015).

The Center for Research directs the research initiatives of the council and is represented by Elmer Almachar (Northwestern University), George Bobinski (Binghamton University), Luisa Elsin (Universidad De Los Andes), and Louise Kapustka (University of Washington).

The Changing EMBA World

The Center for Research hosted a concurrent session titled “The Changing EMBA World: How Students Choose their Programs and What’s Different Within Them” presented by Luisa Fernanda Elsin and Brian Mahoney.

This session delved into shifts in student stakeholders, considerations in selecting a program to attend, and how executive MBA market is changing. The data presented were captured in the Membership Program Survey and the Percept Research’s MBA Student Entry Survey and MBA Student Exit Survey.
