Jerry Provost and Brian Mahoney of Percept Research, attended the UNICON Team Development Conference held November 30 – December 2, 2016 at the Luskin Conference Center, hosted by UCLA Anderson Executive Education.
This year's theme was "Transforming Others, Inspiring Ourselves." Part inspirational and part operational, the interactive three-day experience leveraged attendees’ expertise and provided a platform for rich dialogue and collaboration.
Panel discussions, exercises and break-out sessions facilitated an exploration of the individual’s changing relationship with organizations that increasingly push decision making onto a flattening hierarchy.

The conference inspired individuals to look inside for strength, satisfaction, creative energy and to apply their personal and unique experiences for the betterment of their organization, clients, stakeholders and the world.
The conference hosted several sessions such as “Know Your Stuff: The Future of Business Education,”, “Executive Education as Translators”, “Engage & Inspire: Stories We're Proud to Tell,” and “The Humble Leader and Leadership DNA.”

The plenary session on the second day introduced UNICON’s benchmarking research. Working with Percept Research, the consortium conducts an annual Membership Benchmarking Survey of members’ schools to identify trends and highlight changes in the executive education industry. The research explores data regarding open enrollment programs, custom programs, revenue, program delivery models, and other services provided.
Percept Research serves as the research partner to UNICON, a global consortium of business‐school‐based executive education organizations. Its community of member organizations is engaged in accelerating the development of leaders and managers, thereby enhancing performance in public and private organizations globally, through executive development initiatives.
The primary activities of UNICON include conferences, research, benchmarking, sharing of best practices, staff development, recruitment/job postings, information‐sharing, and extensive networking among members, all centered around the business and practice of executive education.
Percept Research also conducts business school market research and consulting for over 240 schools worldwide. Consulting engagements include new program feasibility studies, brand positioning, return on learning assessments, and messaging strategy.
