Jerry Helisek and Brian Mahoney of Percept Research attended the 2014 Executive MBA Council Midwest regional meeting. Olin Business School at Washington University in St. Louis hosted over 75 attendees at the meeting from July 8-9.
The regional meeting included several sessions covering topics such as “Will Millennials Today Want an EMBA Tomorrow?”, “Maintaining a High Touch Culture with Shrinking Margins,” and “Residencies More Than a Vacation” among others.
Managing Partner, Brian Mahoney, also led a session focused on data-driven insights from Midwest regional EMBA research as well as recent updates to the firm’s MBA Lifecycle Survey Suite.

The Percept Research session focused on key business school metrics in the industry that were measured in the Executive MBA Council's 2013 Membership Program Survey and from the MBA Student Entry and MBA Student Exit Surveys managed by Percept Research. The session included an interactive discussion on trend drivers and how Midwest EMBA programs are adapting to the market, including the growing use of social media to reach prospective students.
In fact, some conference participants leveraged the power of social media to share conference takeaways using the hashtags #MidwestRegionRocks and #EMBAMidwestRegion.
Mr. Mahoney encouraged the attendees to complete the council’s 2014 Membership Program Survey and participate in the firm’s MBA Student Exit Survey with the fielding deadline extended to July 27 to allow more members to participate.
The annual EMBA Council Membership Program Survey reveals regional and worldwide trends and helps empower the association as the voice of the EMBA industry. The survey also drives the online directory of member programs provided by the council.

The weather in St. Louis could not have been better for our July visit. In fact, conference participants were treated to a Cardinals baseball game with outstanding views from Ballpark Village, which provided an opportunity to get to know colleagues better while watching the Cardinal take on the Pittsburgh Pirates.
