Percept Research Promotes MBA Market Research at 2018 IACBE Annual Conference & Assembly Meeting

Brian Mahoney chats with IACBE attendeeThe International Accreditation Council for Business Education (IACBE) hosted its 2018 Annual Conference & Assembly Meeting in New Orleans, USA on April 17-20. Percept Research was represented by Brian Mahoney and Rodney Alsup. The event brought together over 240 attendees.

The theme of the meeting this year was ‘Business Education: Learn. Apply. Experience’ and included a variety of technical presentations, accreditation training sessions, and a student case-study competition.

To open the conference on Wednesday, Chair of the Board of Directors, Ann Tuttle (Keuka College) delivered a warm welcome and opening remarks. The two-day conference packed with sessions that appeal to faculty, deans, program managers and staff. Session and panel covered topics such as ‘Navigating Obstacles to Student Success,’ ‘On-boarding First-Year Business Students,’ ‘Cultivating and Maintaining International Partnerships,’ and ‘Strategic Best Practices for Ethical Leadership’ among others.

The ‘General Meeting of the Assembly’ session featured keynote speaker Dr. Belle Wheelan from Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACS COC).

IACBE is an outcomes-based professional accreditation agency in business and management education for student-centered colleges, universities, and other higher education institutions throughout the world. IACBE has accredited more than 1,400 business and business-related programs in the United States, Europe, Asia, the Middle East, Central America, and South America.

Along with rich conversation and robust deliberations in the conference sessions, attendees enjoyed a tour of the city of New Orleans as well as a riverboat dinner cruise. IACBE also hosted an accreditation banquet to recognize those institutions who have devoted tireless hours to achieve quality education in business.

Percept Research hosted a booth at the conference to build awareness of its MBA Lifecycle Suite of student and alumni assessments specifically tailored to graduate management education. These actionable surveys are designed to measure that change and reveal areas of improvement for management education programs as well as demonstrate assurance of learning and business school return on investment. These surveys can be engaged individually or all together for the longest lasting impact.

The firm also promoted its custom research engagements which include new program feasibility studies, in-depth interviews, admissions funnel assessments, and topical studies. Percept Research provides higher education market research and consulting for over 250 business schools worldwide and is celebrating its fifteen-year anniversary this year.

Dr. Rodney Alsup, who serves as a consultant with Percept Research, also promoted the MBA News Digest at the conference. The MBA News Digest is designed to provide a concise summary of relevant articles regarding MBA programs worldwide to meet the challenge of busy business school administrators in keeping up-to-date on the dynamic landscape of MBA programs. These articles are handpicked for relevance on a daily basis from popular press and academic journals related specifically to MBA programs (curriculum, marketing, technology, alliances, courses, specializations, etc.).

Percept Research enjoyed meeting new colleagues and learning about their schools with its inaugural attendance of the annual conference this year and looks forward to a long-term collaboration with IACBE. The 2019 Annual Conference & Assembly Meeting will be held in at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA from April 9-12.
