Charlotte, NC July 18, 2011—In today’s competitive market, it is more important than ever for a business school to understand and meet student expectations. That’s why the College of St. Scholastica, based in Duluth, Minnesota, recently selected Percept Research’s MBA Lifecycle Survey SuiteSM.
The MBA Lifecycle Survey SuiteSM is a leading student assessment program. It allows colleges to improve MBA student loyalty and gauge student outcomes.
Brian Mahoney, Managing Partner of Percept Research, said, “We are very pleased that the College of St. Scholastica engaged our Student Entry and Student Exit surveys to support the continuous improvement efforts of their three graduate business programs.”
Randy Zimmermann, Chair of Graduate Programs, School of Business & Technology, shared why they chose to invest in the program. “The MBA Lifecycle assessment allows us to capture more information about why students choose our program, their expectations, and to what extent have those expectations been met.”
Like many schools, the College of St. Scholastica wants to use the business school market research to improve their marketing, build student loyalty and capture feedback on student outcomes.
“We use the information in a variety of ways. But all of it is to improve how we market the program, how we administer intake and then how we support the student through the matriculation in our program,” says Zimmermann.
The MBA Lifecycle Survey SuiteSM Suite was developed specifically for graduate business programs like the College of St. Scholastica’s. Mahoney explains, “This suite of surveys is a testament to the desire of these institutions to adapt and provide the best possible experience and return on investment to students.”
But as the College of St. Scholastica examined different MBA program marketing research options, they had more in mind than just student loyalty. With their business school going into its fourth year, the college’s MBA program is now a candidate for accreditation.
Zimmermann explained, “Any accreditation program is going to examine in-depth the extent to which we’re effectively assessing and achieving—particularly the learning outcomes for our students.”
The College of St. Scholastica is looking forward to implementing the Student Entry and Exit Survey this fall.
