Percept Research shares EMBA insights at Southeast Regional Meeting

Written by Gretchen Grabowski | Tuesday, Apr 21, 2015

Gretchen Grabowski and Brian Mahoney of Percept Research attended the Executive MBA Council’s Southeast Regional meeting from February 22-24, 2015. Gretchen and Brian were among more than 80 attendees at the conference, which was co-hosted by the University of North Carolina’s (UNC) Kenan-Flagler Business School and Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business.

UNC’s Mabel Miguel, Professor of Organizational Behavior, led the conference’s featured presentation, “Power and Influence During Change Initiatives.” Miguel utilized a case study on Donna Dubinsky’s rise and fall at Apple Computer, Inc. to guide an interactive session on how professionals gain and use power in the workplace.

Managing Partner, Brian Mahoney, also led a session focused on data-driven EMBA market insights in the southeast region. Brian presented data captured from the firm’s MBA Lifecycle Survey Suite as well as the Executive MBA Council Membership Program Survey.

This session included an interactive discussion on MBA trend drivers in the Southeast region, including top student referral sources, the use of social media in MBA marketing and admissions, and student ratings of the MBA experience.

The annual EMBA Council Membership Program Survey reveals regional and worldwide trends and helps empower the association as the voice of the EMBA industry. The survey also drives the searchable online directory of member programs.

In addition to the learnings shared during seminars, attendees of the 2015 Southeast Regional Meeting had the opportunity to network during a series of conference-sponsored events. On the first of the three-day meeting, several attendees sampled a variety of local foods and spirits during a “Walking Food Tour” of Durham. Attendees also recapped conference events during a group dinner at Top of the Hill, a local Chapel Hill restaurant and brewery.
